Bungee Jumping in Nepal Locations
There are four popular bungee sites in Nepal. There’s one in Pokhara, one in Kushma, and one in Bhotekoshi. Recently, a new site, Everest Bungee, in Larcha Dovan is becoming a hot take. If you’re on Everest Base Camp Trek, you should try this thrill at 3000 meters altitude. However, only two of them are popular among the thrill-seeker. In Nepal,The Cliff at Kushma and The Last Resort in Bhotekoshi are the two best bungee jumping locations. The one in Pokhara is just 80 meters high, making it the least preferred due to its artificial tower-bungee fashion.
Let’s explore each of these in detail.
The Cliff Nepal: World’s second highest
As the name suggests, The Cliff, this bungee site hangs over a gorge of cascading Kali Gandaki River. Opened for thrill-seekers in 2020, it took no time to become the most favorite bungee jumping location in the country. Moreover, becoming the world’s second-highest bungee made it even more appealing, not to mention the panoramic landscape of the region.
The Cliff Bungee is the world’s second highest, with a height of 228 meters. For many, this whooping height causes acrophobia. But for thrill seekers, it’s ideal and is just as wished.
How to get to The Cliff?
It’s very convenient if you want to get to The Cliff.
The first thing you’ve to do is be in Pokhara. And once you’re in Pokhara, you’re just a step away from reaching here. You can take a taxi, jeep, or a public bus from Pokhara.
You’ll drive along the Pokhara-Baglung Highway via Hemja, Nayapul, and Kushma, Parbat. Once you get off the bus, The Cliff is just a 10-minute walk from the highway.
There’s a sales office of The Cliff at Hallanchowk, Lakeside. Here, you can book the jump or learn more about getting to the bungee site.
Other adventures in The Cliff
Whether with friends, families, or loved ones, the thrill of bungee jumping combined with a luxurious overnight experience is a must-try if you’re in Nepal.
The Cliff Nepal is more than just a bungee jumping location. It has the world’s highest swing, the world’s highest couple swing, the world’s highest and longest sky cycling, and the world’s highest sky cafe. Apart from the bungee, every other adventure stuff here is second to none.
Overnight stay at the resorts in The Cliff can be the best choice. The Cliff offers luxurious accommodations and expansive meals. Also, the outdoor setting of extravagant tents and cottages can elevate your overnight experience.
The Last Resort: Pioneer of Bungee Jumping in Nepal
The Last Resort is the pioneer of Bungee Jumping in Nepal. Sitting on a cliff-top gorge of Bhotekoshi River, this bungee is the second-highest in Nepal, with a height of 160 meters.
Despite other bungee sites in Nepal, The Last Resort is still the best. Despite being short, the thrill of 3 seconds of free-fall down the narrow gorges over the cascading Bhote Koshi River is nowhere-like. Spending overnight in the tranquil resort amidst forest and terraces with family and loved ones adds the cherry on the cake of your adventure.
Getting in to The Last Resort
Getting here gets easy once you book your bungee jumping with them at their sales office in Thamel, Kathmandu. The Last Resort has a sales office at Mandala Street in Thamel.
You’ll get picked up in a private vehicle or a tourist bus in the morning from Thamel. The Last Resort is roughly 100 km from Kathmandu. With 3.5 hours of drive along Araniko Highway, you’ll reach The Last Resort.
Once you reach the bungee site, the crew organizes the briefing sessions. With gears put on, you’ll take a jump.
You can take a local bus from Ratnapark if you want to visit The Last Resort yourself. The bus fare is around Rs. 300. It takes almost 4-5 hours to get there by bus. Once you get off the bus, the bungy site is 10-minute walk.
Bungee Pokhara: 80 meter tower bungee
HighGround Adventures offers Bungee Jumping in Pokhara. Unlike the towering heights of The Cliff and The Last Resort, the bungee jumping at Pokhara is short, just 80 meters. Moreover, you’ll jump from an artificial tower instead of a bridge.
Bungee Pokhara can be best for you for various reasons.
First, the price of the jump is highly affordable. At just Rs. 6000, you can bungee here. Also, Tandem Bungee is available at Rs. 10,000. Second, it’s close to Lakeside Pokhara and offers private vehicle hotel-bungee site pickup-drop service. Moreover, they offer Zip lines, ATV Bike Ride, and Sky-screamer Swing.
You can check out Bungee Pokhara’s official website to learn more about the offerings.
Everest Bungee
If you’re planning for Everest Base Camp Trek or Gokyo Lakes Trek, consider adding a bungee jump near Hillary Bridge. Adventure with the thrill of jumping can be the ultimate activity in the Himalayas.
Opened on September 10, 2023, Everest Bungee is the youngest bungee jumping location in Nepal. This bungee sits over 145 feet above the cascading mighty Dudh Koshi River.
Height of Bungee Jumping in Nepal
The Cliff Nepal at Kushma, 228 meters tall, is the maximum height of bungee jumping in Nepal. Moreover, it’s the second-highest bungee jumping location in the world. Two towering cliffs on either side of Kali Gandaki Gorge have made it the highest and best location to jump.
Second, The Last Resort in Bhotekoshi is the second-highest bungee jumping in Nepal. The bridge over Bhotekoshi River is 160 meters tall, allowing 5 seconds of free-fall.
The least height of bungee jumping in Nepal is at Bungee Pokhara. It’s an artificial-tower jump of just 80 meters, with 50 meters being the true jump height.
Hence, The Cliff and The Last Resort offers maximum free-fall for the best bungee experience.
