Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour- Whole day Activities
Whether on a honeymoon, with family and friends, or with solo visitors, the Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour offers expansive recreational choices. Jeep safari rides, elephant rides, canoeing, birdwatching, and visits to elephant breeding centres are popular day activities here.
Here are some details on what we offer you during the Chitwan Jungle Safari 2 nights 3 days tour.
Half day Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour in Jeep
Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour in Jeep is another excellent way to tour the national park. Unlike a short elephant safari, a jeep safari tour comes in two styles. One is a four-hour group safari tour; the other is a whole-day private jeep safari tour with a wildlife tour guide. Also, a jeep accommodates more people rather than four on the elephant. Hence, a jeep safari tour is best for families and friends in groups.
Canoe Ride in Rapti River
Rapti River flows east to west through Chitwan National Park. The crocodile sun basks on the banks of this river that flows from Sauraha. A canoe ride on Rapti is a great way to witness these reptiles basking motionlessly on the banks.
Apart from the reptiles, the migratory birds also spend most of their Autumn and Spring days on the banks of this river. Canoeing on Rapti River offers glimpses of such exotic birds and different mammals.
Tharu Village Tour and Cultural Show
Tharu people are the ethnic group of Chitwan National Park. Their lifestyle has mostly stayed the same, and they still adopt the traditional way of life. As a visitor to Tharu villages in Chitwan, you’ll learn more about this tribe.
The most apparent are their daily lifestyle, attires, wall paintings, etc.
A Tharu museum in the heart of Sauraha is another must-visit place. It gives insight into the close relationship between nature and the Tharu people living here for centuries.
Your Chitwan Jungle Safari 2 nights 3 days tour includes Tharu Cultural Show participation in the evening. This cultural show takes an hour in a Tharu theatre in Sauraha. The Tharu artist performs various dances and rituals; Peacock Dance, Fire Dance, and the Stick dance act are among the best. All these performances are in their ethical languages.
Elephant Breeding Center Visit
There are only two elephant breeding centres worldwide. One among the two is in Sauraha, Khorsor, inside Chitwan National Park. And during your Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour, you’ll visit this breeding centre. As most visitors do, to make the breeding centre’s visit accessible, you’ll accommodate the hotel close to the breeding centre.
More than 52 elephants, including babies and adults, are in the breeding centre. The National Park Patrol uses most adult elephants from the breeding centres.
You’ll visit the breeding centre after lunch. Usually, this centre is open for visitors for two shifts, morning and daytime. In the morning, it remains open from 7 am to 10 am in summer and 8 am to 11 am in winter. The day shifts for visitors are available from 3 pm to 4 pm in summer and 2 pm to 4 pm in winter.
Birdwatching Tour
If you’re an avid birdwatcher or want to learn more about exotic and migratory birds, Chitwan National Park is among the best birdwatching hubs in Nepal.
The warm temperature throughout the winter in Chitwan attracts countless migratory birds from the Northern and Southern hemispheres. Alongside migratory birds, the significant number of residents makes Chitwan National Park a must-visit place to watch birds. Hence, the Chitwan Jungle Safari 2 nights 3 days tour can be a birdwatching tour more than just watching wild animals.
Most migratory birds use a few lakes inside the national park as breeding hubs. One of them is Bishajari Lake. Also, you’ll see many birds enjoying sunbathing on Rapti’s shore.
You’ll visit this lake early in the morning with a bird-specialised wildlife guide. You’ll see rare bird species like Hornbill, Florican, Spotted Eagle, Flycatcher, etc.
Rapti River sunset view
To beat the humidity of Sauraha, Rapti River Beach is the best place to stop by and chill with a few drinks in the evening. Evening at this place becomes spectacular with sunset. The vibrant sunset view from Rapti River is a show stealer at Sauraha.
You can lay on the chair, sip the drink, and watch the sundown with the jungle in the background and the Rapti river in front. It gives you the actual vibe of Chitwan.
Jungle Walk
Jungle walk on Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour is one of the most daring short hikes. It’s optional. You can stay in the hotel if you’re scared of the jungle walk. However, if you feel like exploring the jungle with a certified jungle tour guide, you can join the hike. It’ll be a short hike of just an hour around the buffer zone and some core areas.
The most common animals you’d see with jungle walks are one-horned rhinos, elephants, Bison, and Sloth bears. You may also visit the Bengal Tiger on rare occasions.
You’ll also climb to some observation towers in the national park to have a wider-angle viewing of the terrain. We’ll provide two certified jungle guides for the walk so you’ll be safe throughout. Also, these guides give you information about the plant species you’ll see during your walk.
