Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour- Itinerary Breakdown
Day 2: Full day activities in Chitwan National Park
On day two of the Chitwan Safari, you'll be doing most of the activities, from canoeing to birdwatching and jungle safari.
After breakfast, around 7 am, you'll set out on a safari jeep for jungle safari. Early morning is the best time for jungle safari because most animals get more active in the morning than in the humid afternoon.
The jungle safari tour lets you catch glimpses of one-horned rhinos, bison, antelopes, deer, leopards, sloth bears, and countless bird species. And if you're lucky enough, you'll get the rare sight of the Bengal Tiger during the safari.
You'll visit various landmarks in the forest before returning to the hotel for lunch at 1 pm.
After lunch, around 4 pm, your tour guide will take you for the canoeing in Rapti River.
You'll be at Rapti River Beach for sunset viewing in the evening. There are many restaurants at Rapti Beach where you can grab some cold beverages and watch the sunset to the fullest. But if you're on a luxury tour at Meghauli Serai, they'll organize a perfect sunset setting with drinks and snacks.
After sunset, you'll return to the hotel.
Day 3: Jungle walk in the morning. Head to your next destination (after checkout)
Our Chitwan Wildlife Tour comes to an end on the 3rd day. But, before leaving, an exciting trip awaits. You'll embark on the two-hour jungle walk in the buffer zone. Two forest guides will accompany you during this trip.
You'll return to the hotel for lunch and checkout.
If you stay for a day or two more, you're welcome to extend your trip before checkout. Mostly, those who wish but don't see a tiger or leopard often extend their stay.
You can go further deep into the national park on a full day sightseeing, visit lakes for birdwatching, and explore Tharu villages.
You can also go fishing and do fieldwork with the locals. There are tons of activities in Sauraha for which you can extend your stay and make it worth it.
If you want to return to Kathmandu or the following destination, we'll arrange the transportation for you.

Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour- Whole day Activities
Whether on a honeymoon, with family and friends, or solo, the Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour fits everyone. This elegant tour offers an expansive recreational experience, connecting you with the affluent wildlife and typical ethnic community. Jeep safari, canoeing, birdwatching, jungle walking, Tharu cultural experience, Rapti sunset, etc., are popular recreational activities.
Here are some details on what we offer you during the Chitwan Jungle Safari 2 nights 3 days tour.
Half day Jungle Safari Tour- By Jeep
A jungle safari on a jeep is a fantastic way to get close to the wildlife in Chitwan. On a lucky day, you’ll see tigers, rhinos, leopards, bears, and wild elephants. That, too, on a proximity.
You’ll have the option of half-day and full-day jeep safari tours. What we usually recommend is the half-day jeep tour, in the morning or the afternoon. If you prefer a full day, we suggest two half-day tours as it increases the chance of sighting tigers and leopards.
A jungle guide will accompany the entire jeep tour.
The availability of private or group safari by the jeep depends on the availability and number of tourists on a given day. However, if you prefer a private jeep safari, you have to pay an additional USD 200.
If you’re with family or friends, getting on a jeep and touring in the lush forests is the best option.
Canoe Ride and Sunset in Rapti River
Rapti River flows east to west through Chitwan National Park. The sun-basking crocodiles and cheerful migratory birds on the river banks make the canoe ride amazing.
The seasonal birds and reptiles spend most of their Autumn and Spring days on the banks of this river. Canoeing on Rapti River offers glimpses of such exotic birds and different mammals.

You’ll take a canoe ride for 30-40 minutes and stop at the sunset viewpoint. Don’t forget to bring chilled drinks and beers for the sunset! The vibrant sunset view from Rapti River leaves you in awe.
You can lay on the chair, sip the drink, and watch the sundown with the jungle in the background and the Rapti river in front.
Tharu Cultural Experience
Chitwan is home to the Tharu people, the ethnic people of the region. These people and their community are rich in culture, tradition, and way of life. Thus, for a tourist like you, their enriched cultural exhibition is new and can get exciting.
The Tharu cultural show is a popular activity that visitors in Chitwan engage in during the evening. The Tharu artists perform various dances, sing, and showcase their culture to visitors. Before every act, the host briefs about it and when they perform such at occasions like birth, death, and other rituals.
What makes these acts eye-catching is the use of vibrant ethnic customs, tribal music, and classy body movements, mostly female artists.
War dance, stick dance, peacock dance, fire dance, and Jhamta are five popular dance acts you’ll observe and relish.

If you stay in Sauraha for the Chitwan Safari Tour, you’ll visit the Tharu Cultural Auditorium. Here, around 100 visitors attend the show every evening.
However, if you plan to stay in Meghauli at the lodges like Meghauli Serai and Barahi Jungle Lodge, the lodges host the artists. They have a separate stage for the Tharu cultural show where you’ll attend the show, participate in dance with the artists, and dine at the Tharu delicacies.
Jungle Walk
A jungle walk in Chitwan National Park’s buffer zone is another exciting activity you’ll engage in. You’ll walk through the forest, deer’s grazing zone, birdwatching, and sighting one-horned rhino.
The jungle walk is safe. The two experienced forest guides will guide you entirely. The number of forest guides depends on the number of visitors. However, the least is two.
The most exciting part of the jungle walk is watching the deer and antelopes grazing on the grasslands. As you walk by, the Giant Hornbills flap their giant wings and fly over the forest. And as you visit the river and wetlands, you’ll see one-horned rhinos grazing and crocodile basking in the sun.
As a safety precaution, you must obey everything your forest guide briefs. You can’t touch or harm the wildlife at any cost.
