Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking
Langtang Valley has two famous and beautiful trekking, Langtang Valley Trek and Gosaikunda Lake Trek. Another famous Langtang Region trekking is Tamang Heritage Trek. However, the two treks are more popular than the latter one.
Langtang Valley Trekking
Langtang Valley Trek is nearly a week-long trek that takes you to Langtang village and Kyanjin Gompa. It’s a beautiful trek that showcases the famous Tamang Heritage as well as the beautiful mountains of the Langtang range.
Langtang Village and Kyanjin Gompa are two famous villages on this trek. Furthermore, Kyanjin Ri and Tsergo Ri are two popular vantage points for this trekking. Kyanjin Ri, being just 4,773 meters, is the most hiked. But those who acclimate well at Kyanjin Gompa hike to Tsergo Ri, nearly a 5000-meter-tall peak in the valley. From here, you’ll get the most conspicuous glimpse of the Langtang range mountains, including Gangchenpo, the most beautiful. You’ll also see the elegant Langtang Lirung, the tallest peak of the Langtang mountain range, at 7,234 meters.
Gosaikunda Lake Trek
Gosaikunda Trek is another famous Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking, best characterized by short trek distance, pilgrim values, and affordable tea houses.
Regarded as an abode of the Hindu god, Lord Shiva, yearly, thousands of pilgrims hike up to Gosaikunda Lake and take a holy bath. Gosaikunda Trek is the only trekking in Nepal that’s popular among teens, adults, and seniors.
Being just a home to lakes and devoid of a close view of mountains, trekker plan Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Lake as a combined trek. They first hike to Langtang and Kyanjin. And while returning from Kyanjin, trekkers hike up to Thulo Syabru from Rimche or Pairo.
Tamang Heritage Trek
Langtang region is home to the Tamang people, the ethnics. Influenced by Tibetan culture, Buddhism is the primary religion these people practice. Furthermore, they celebrate Buddhist and Hindu festivals all year round.
Tamang Heritage on Langtang Valley is a popular element other than elegant mountains and freshwater lakes. Gatlang, Goljung, Thuman, and Timure are famous Tamang villages.
You’ll also see various regional mountains, like Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lhakpa etc.
