Is Nepal safe to travel?

Autumn in Nepal draws hundreds of thousands of travelers worldwide. As the season began, Nepal experienced an unforeseen upheaval that quickly escalated into violence. This left travelers stranded for several days, with airports shut, curfews enforced, and an uncertain future looming.
However, the country restored peace quickly by forming an interim government within a week, with laws and orders restored. With this, the stranded travellers resumed their treks and tours as they felt safe in the country again. Although the travellers were never targeted, one must still feel safe, especially when visiting a foreign land. That is especially true when you’re supposed to have a lifetime experience with trekking and tours.
Is Nepal safe to travel in October/November 2025?
Yes. Nepal is back to normalcy as it always has been. There are no violent outbreaks now, and things are settling better. Moreover, the country has established an interim government that includes appointed positions such as prime minister, home minister, and ministers for other key ministries.

Things to do
First, many countries have warned their citizens regarding Nepal. A few countries even restricted their citizens to Nepal after the Gen-Z protest and its aftermath. Thus, before you plan Nepal visit, check if your government allows you to travel to Nepal or not.
Second, talk to your insurance regarding the Nepal travel. With the recent events in Nepal, the international travel insurance may have taken different approaches regarding the coverage and all. Hence, before you travel to Nepal, make sure that your travel insurance is valid and covers any unforeseen situations. Unforeseen situations usually include altitude sickness, injuries, and hospitalization on the trek.
Last but not least, talk to your family and friends before leaving for Nepal. Let them know that you’re traveling with a registered travel agency, have all the itinerary and logistics sorted out, etc.
