Why 5 days Annapurna Base Camp Trek?
Is five days enough for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek from Pokhara?
Well. The trek is doable in five days. However, for a wholesome Annapurna Sanctuary experience, 10 days of ABC Trek via Poon Hill is an absolute.
If you’re a time-bound adventurer embarking on a budget trek with breathtaking mountain panoramas, the five-day ABC Trek is for you.
Here are some topics that highlight why this five-day trek can be the right adventure in the Annapurna region in 2025.
Panoramic Annapurna mountains
The elegant mountains of the Annapurna region have made it a popular trekking destination in Nepal. Almost all the mountains are unique and attractive. Hence, if you love watching mountains up close, just a few kilometers away, Annapurna Base Camp Trek is for you.
The towering Annapurna mountains surround the base camp. Stepping into the picturesque base camp makes you feel like a haven of mountains. On this five-day trek, you’ll see five beautiful 7000 meters and one 8000 meters tall mountain.

Annapurna III, South, Gangapurna, Tare Kang, and Khangsar Kang are the five 7,000-meter-high mountains, utterly visible from the base camp. The lowest of 7000 meters is Tare Kang at 7,069 meters, and the highest is Annapurna South at 7,555 meters.
Annapurna I, at 8,091 meters, is the only 8000-meter tall mountain in the Annapurna range. And it’s visible only from the base camp.
Furthermore, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) is another striking mountain. The unique fish-tail-like summit of this mountain makes it appealing. The best time to view this mountain is at sunset. For Annapurnas, sunrise is the best time.
Moderately Difficult Trek- Ideal for novice trekkers
Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a moderately strenuous trek. Hence, due to the less demanding route, most trekkers here are novices with no prior high-altitude trek experience.
If you’re new to trekking and preparing for extreme-elevation treks like Everest Base Camp Trek or Manaslu Circuit Trek, the 5 days Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek is perfect.
Beginner adventurers often struggle to trek with longer itineraries and over extreme elevation destinations. However, the Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek is doable in just five days. Moreover, the base camp is at 4,130 meters, making it a low-altitude base camp.
Furthermore, the trek route is straightforward. Apart from a few steeper ascends, the trek route is safe, less rugged, and offers a comfortable walking experience.
Usually, novice trekkers hesitate to embark on an adventure with the fear of getting altitude sickness along the trek. It’s safe to mention that very few trekkers at Annapurna Base Camp get altitude sickness. With adequate physical fitness and trek preparation, you’ll avoid getting altitude sickness and complete the trek on a good note.
Due to these, trekking to Annapurna Base Camp for five days from Pokhara is the perfect adventure for novice trekkers in the Himalayas.
Short Itinerary- Perfect for time bound trekkers
If you’re in Pokhara, have 5-6 travel days, and want an adventure full of life, mountains, and vibrant landscape, we’ve got you covered.
